Glass fiber geogrid is a kind of net structure material, which is made of glass fiber roving without alkali and twistless. In order to protect the glass fiber and improve the overall performance, the new excellent geogrid is formed by special coating process.

Glass fiber geogrid is a good geosynthetic material used for road reinforcement, old road reinforcement, subgrade reinforcement and soft soil foundation. Its main component: alkali free E-glass fiber, also known as alkali free glass fiber, is a kind of glass component fiber-like material with melting point above 1000 ℃, which has the properties of light weight, high strength, insulation, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, good electrical insulation and mechanical properties.

1. High tensile strength and low elongation

The raw material of GFRP geogrid is glass fiber, and the strength of glass fiber is higher than other fibers and metals. At the same time, its modulus is very high, it has a high deformation resistance, and its fracture elongation is less than 3%.

2. High temperature resistance

In the road construction, the temperature of asphalt concrete is as high as 130-140 ℃, the general chemical fiber, plastic geonet or other organic fabric will soften in such a high temperature, and then be deformed by external force, reduce its tensile strength, and affect the construction quality. If the melting temperature of glass fiber is above 1000 ℃, as long as the construction procedure is normal, the thermal stability of glass fiber geogrid will be guaranteed in the paving operation.

3. Physical and chemical stability

Glass fiber is a kind of inorganic non-metallic material, which has excellent physical and chemical stability, can resist all kinds of physical wear and chemical erosion, can resist biological erosion and climate change, and has excellent performance of acid resistance, salt resistance, oxidation resistance, etc.

4. Anti creep

As a reinforced material, it is very important to have the ability to resist deformation under long-term load, that is, creep. Glass fiber will not creep, so as to ensure the long-term performance of the product.

5. Structural stability

The material applied in the post-treatment process of GFRP geogrid is designed for asphalt mixture. Each fiber is fully coated and has high compatibility with asphalt, so as to ensure that GFRP geogrid will not be isolated from asphalt mixture in the asphalt layer, but firmly combined.

At the same time, because the GFRP geogrid is a network structure, the aggregate in the asphalt concrete can penetrate through it, thus forming a mechanical interlock. This restriction hinders the movement of aggregate. It is that asphalt mixture can achieve better compaction state, higher bearing capacity and better load transfer performance under load.
